It was a good weekend :)

We had a wonderful weekend with friends and family!  We headed to Levelland on Friday for a few shoots and most of them were rained out.  I was glad to be able to spend the extra time with my family.  We spent the afternoon at Main Event and ate dinner together!  We did fireworks with friends on the 4th and enjoyed the Rockhounds with our church family this evening.

I have also spent some time trying to get better organized this weekend….those of you who know me well…know that this is something I am not great at.  Just FYI we had so much dirty laundry this weekend, poor MacKenna wore a pair of Gage’s underwear to church Sunday morning…ha!  I know those of you who are great organizers and housekeepers are cringing right now!!  Sometimes I feel like a rat in a wheel!  I started asking myself this weekend why everything felt so chaotic and crazy all the time.  It was then I felt that still small voice…I felt the Lord leading me to look at my priorities.  What was I focused on and where was I spending my time?  Chad and I started a new Sunday school series this week that focuses on change and how to change the areas of our lives that need it.  We talked about how first before anything else we have to seek Him first and obey His commands.  I am not sure if our class got anything out of the lesson…but it doesn’t matter, because the Lord spoke (loudly) to me!  When I began to look at where my focus was…it was everywhere but on Him.  I have neglected to stop and just sit with Him, I have not been in the Word faithfully, and these things were so clearly reflected in the last months.  I am so thankful for how patient and loving He is with me.  It’s His kindness that leads us to repentance! So, I have been looking at ways I can manage my time better and focus on the things that are important first!

One thing I want to do is post my monthly goals on here each month.  The first week of the month I will mark off the one’s I completed from the previous month and add the next months goals.  I like lists and they help me to get things done…I LOVE marking things off, I feel so accomplished!

If you come to the blog only to see pictures then you can simply skip these posts and pretend they aren’t here…but if your a little like me and get caught up with all the not so important things in life sometimes, I hope you will understand and maybe even make some goals for yourself this month!

July Goals:

  • Read my Bible everyday and spend more time with my Savior
  • Take the kids to the park
  • exercise twice a week (baby steps people!)
  • Have a date night with Chad
  • Keep my spreadsheet up to date
  • Finish 2 albums
  • Get all clients moved into ShootQ
  • make plans for an inspiration shoot
  • establish better “work” hours
  • only check my email twice a day
  • memorize 2 new verses of scripture
  • read a book

Ok…I think this is enough for one month! …and of course I will leave you with a few shots of the kiddos!
